Amazing service and food
We were greeted by Christelle and looked after by April - the food and service were second to none. It was amazing quality - thoroughly recommended. Excellent food and experience
We stayed in Swellendam for a few days, searched for a restaurant that did not serve burgers or pizzas. Christelle's was recommended to us, wow! Beautiful flavoursome food, great presentation, happy atmosphere and Christelle was lovely. Her husband is a very talented chef. Our waitress deserves a 5 star complement too. Superb in Swellendam
Such a little gem in the town of Swellendam, offering superb service from attentive waitrons (our waitron April was fantastic, as was the hostess Christelle ), a curated menu of excellent meals and a cozy ambiance. We would have returned the next day, but it was sadly our last day in Swellendam. Chef also came out to check on our experience. Very committed, friendly team - delicious food
We already know Swellendam and its restaurant from a few trips. Last night we went to Christelle's Bistro for the first time. We met an extremely committed restaurant team who care about the well-being of their guests. We had a delicious menu that combined the best of two cuisines. An address to absolutely discover if you are in Swelledam.
Excellent restaurant Very warm welcome, very personalized in terms of dish and wine. We find in the dishes the love of cooking and his desire to help us discover it. Just like a french bistro
Wonderful ambience and decor and a warm welcome from Christelle which we very much appreciated. We both had the french onion soup for starter and the gorgonzola fillet and pork belly for main. The fillet was cooked to perfection and the gorgonzola sauce was divine. My husband enjoyed his pork belly but would have preferred the crackling crisp this being only a very minor point and more a matter of taste. The chef was ever present checking up that everyone was happy with their meal which was a very nice touch. A little bit of France in South Africa
Christelle's is a lovely restaurant and we had a lovely meal here. The decoration is a bit dated but quaint at the same time. We had hoped for a table in the outside garden but with the doors to the restaurant opened up, we enjoyed the atmosphere. The Moules Mariniere to start with were lovely and Beef Filet that was chosen as our main course of an excellent quality. This is a good choice when in Swellendam and Christelle is an outstanding host that enquired multiple times if the food was up to our liking.

A must if you are in the area (Swellendam)
The meal exceeded our expectations as, so far, our gastronomic experiences in South Africa have not been outstanding. The coq au vin was truly delicious. We were intrigued as to how it had been prepared and were delighted when the chef came to explain in detail how it was cooked. Deserts were also original and scrumptious. Geraldine, our server, was friendly and attentive throughout. Bravo to the owners.
