Christelle’s Bistro is a cozy, funky French-inspired bistro nestled in the historic town of Swellendam – the third-oldest town in South Africa, named after the governor at the time, Hendrik Swellengrebel, and his wife, Helena Ten Damme. Surrounded by a charming garden, it offers a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere where good food and conversation thrive.

Created in 2021 by Chef Josia Conradie and his French wife Christelle, the bistro is the result of years of culinary adventures across Africa, Europe, and Asia. Their menu blends French finesse with South African flair, changing with the seasons to showcase the freshest local ingredients. With options for vegetarians and vegans, every dish is crafted with care, flavor, and a touch of wanderlust.
